The other day, Dean got the shock of his life while shopping in the store like he usually does. He’s a regular here and we were all beside ourselves when he showed us what he found.
A picture of himself as a boy! You know you’re an antique when…. hahaha. Sorry, Dean.
Dean found a picture of himself
As a boy, he always stood at the bow of what was to become a family boat in Port Dover- And there he is! Is that a fantastic find or what? What an eye he has to have found it! We love it! Thank you so much for sharing your joy with us!
This Weekend: It’s the last few days to enter our in-store draw for a $50 restaurant gift card and passes to see The Magic Of Lights! The winner will be announced next week!
Thank you for all your donations to our food and toy drive- we dropped them off this week along with more than $300 in donations to the Caring Cupboard.
‘Tis the Season for Party Hair. You know you’re probably going to need this! (That’s me on the box cover-ha)

We had the rare and enjoyable opportunity to be featured as a hidden gem on our local radio station! It’s always fun for us to be discovered as a new place to shop, eat and hang out! Listen to our interview.
Thank you to everyone who came to our Open House last weekend, all the little ones and especially the Potter Gang because man, they know how to live it up! 🙂
There are so many new booths, and additions to the store we can barely keep up. We’ve upload a massive crate full of images to our google page- If you want to have a grand puruse you can do that right here!

We have a fantastic weekend coming up! It’s our annual Christmas in the Village OPEN HOUSE! …and I recorded a commercial! So that was pretty cool & a new experience to say the least. We’ve picked a winner from our FB entries and another one from our Instagram Entries. The winners of a $50 gas gift card, $50 to BrickYard Antique Market and $50 to Brickyard Restaurant are Johanna Richards (pictured below)and Gabrielle White. We’re so happy to make you happy! Congratulations to you both and a big thank you to everyone who entered.
Didn’t win? Don’t fret… Stay tuned for a new in-store-only contest starting next week! fa la la la la
We are all loving this simple natural look and a real throwback to what was. The girls did a fantastic job on this primitive display, didn’t they? The second it snows (Ummm, right this second by the looks of it) I’m all in for holiday decorating! Who’s with me?
Just like last year, in partnership with many other local businesses, we are collecting non-perishables and new unwrapped toys. There is a big box right up front inside the store as well as under our tree where you can drop them off the next time you come in.
We are already impressed with the funds donated by you to our local Caring Cupboard (Food Bank) every single month! Last year was a huge success and with your help, we can do it again!! The need has only increased.
Find beauty in the everyday.
And SAVE THE DATE we hope to see you at our Holiday Open House November 18th-20th.
I hope you’re having a spooktacular weekend! Watch out for those ghosts, they’re everywhere! Last night I was watching the fun, campy and silly show GHOSTS on Prime. On the last episode of the first season, I said: “Did they make a second season?”
I think so replied my husband, it’s pretty low budget.
“Yeah,” I said, “There are only two main characters and the rest are ghosts.”
For a second I was serious, and then I burst out laughing. Boy, I guess my buy-in on the cast of ghosts was pretty REAL to me. I nearly died laughing at myself. Success on their end though!
We have lots of ghosts around here too. 14 year old me would be in here for a slumber party seance pronto. Plain old me would never intentionally be alone in the store late at night, because of the groundskeeper who died on site and the old restless lady in section three… She only gets upset when you make changes to the building though. Whew!
I nearly died laughing as well, when this lovely customer bought this pretty tin for… Guess what? Her ashes someday! There was some discussion on how big of a box you would need. I don’t think she is going to have to worry about that for a long time. I hope!
Others piped up with knowing someone who had their ashes in a Mr. Peanuts Jar because he loved nuts. Maybe if you sold Tupperware you’d demand to be put in nothing but the latest plastic container, I dunno. What comes to mind for you if you dare?
Thank you Kara for lighting up our feed as always!
Merry Halloween! The line between Christmas and Halloween just keeps getting blurrier and blurrier. We can all try to be resistant to the fact that Christmas starts earlier every year, but I can only blame myself for turning directly on my heel every time I see a ceramic Santa (insert your Christmas lust item of choice here) no matter what the calendar says! Wheeee!
What a wonderful blend of Christmas and Halloween together. Santa doesn’t look too sure about it all, but his time is coming. 😉 Tons of Christmas decorations and gifts have just arrived!
Enjoy the last of the fall colour! Every chance I get, I am out in the woods just to see how it has changed from yesterday. Those leaves are gorgeous and smell fantastic- I cannot get enough of them!
New: A Delicious Chili Cheese FootLong Hot Dog on a HomeMade Bun!

The seasons are changing and the leaves are falling!
With that comes pumpkin spice, everything nice, warm sweaters and lattes! Good-ness I LOVE this weather!
There’s so much to look forward to… Thanksgiving, Halloween and Octoberfest.
We’ve got old barrels, steins galore, tumblers, shot glasses, old bottles of every kind including Labbats, Canadian and Coors.
We’ve even got an old whiskey wagon set, complete with horse and carriage. You would definitely look pretty serious with that on the bar mantle!
Classic beer pulls: We have many kinds (sorry they don’t come with any beer!) and that’s just some of the fixings for a certain kind of easy-going feast where the brown ale is a flow’n.
Happy Thanksgiving!
It’s our 4-year anniversary if you can believe it!! A big Thank you to all of our amazing magical vendors with a nose for collecting and curating like no other! Thank you for working so hard to keep the store fresh and fun! We couldn’t have such an eclectic fun place without you!

Happy Fall!! A big welcome to the Frugal Fig with their new space here @ BrickYard. It’s a gorgeous mix of everything you need to add some warmth to your home! I think these are all my favourite hues at the moment. It’s slightly unbelievable to me that it’s already the end of the summer. What!? But with sweet finds like this, maybe I can deal with it!
We’re giving away a shopping day worth $150.00! Woo HOO!
